A sadness it its eyes - red tail hawk portrait (in Explore)

Harris Nature Center, Meridian Township, Michigan.

 

This is an injured hawk that is held in captivity at the nature center, adjacent to the feeders. It seemed rather sad and resigned to its fate as it was peering out into the adjacent woodland, which is reflected in its eye.
