I would actually love to know if the crew on the former "original" Springfield Terminal Ry actually had to pay the 15 cent toll while crossing the shared bridge on Rte 11 between Charlestown, NH and Springfield, VT. This medium format negative from the winter of 1974 shows 44 tonner number 1 toting one single load of salt for the Springfield, VT highway department, as a line of cars have no choice but to follow the leader.
