Just another ordinary day
Reaching into the blue logan boxes from 1992, I found some what I thought was just "ordinary" shots of P&W train WX-1, the tried and true Worcester local that did it all everyday for over 40 years. Most of the time it was assigned U18B 1801 and GP-9 1702. It was a 3 man crew and everyday was always simple, down to the mill at Greenwood yard in the morning and then on the "Auburn" side afternoons. They would take small trips just south on the respective mainlines to service several local customers. Here WX-1 on the Providence main was pausing to give long time customer Polyvinyl Films of Sutton, MA a switch while the 1801, last of that model ever built, rubs shoulders with some of the old Norton Co, wood sided 40 foot box cars that served as storage for the facility for many years. 27 years later, Polyvinyl still receives cars from the P&W. March 21, 1992.
