Training Dart
Seen parked (yes, a little further from the kerb than I wanted, but still acceptable) on Cob Drive in Swan Valley after my first hour driving a bus. This Dart is usually a spare training vehicle, but for my first week of training the regular bus for my instructor (22374) was in for MOT prep. Luckily for me this meant that I got to sample driving a Dart, which the depot I was due to be based at didn't have any of. Honestly, it was a really nice bus to drive, and starting in a fairly small bus like this and going to a 12m bus (the MAN) was a good stepping stone. 34627 is one of two Darts in the training fleet at Northampton, the other being 34626 (OPA).
Stagecoach Midlands' KX54 OPB (34627) is seen on Cob Drive, Northampton, while performing driver training duties. This livery only seems to be on the Midlands training vehicles, with other divisions having either standard livery, or unique liveries. KX54OPB was new in November 2004 to Stagecoach Midland Red South's Nuneaton depot, for use on the 48 (Coventry - Nuneaton - Atherstone, or Hinckley & Leicester. The front panel has a filled in section from its days branded for the 48. Normally 34627 is based at Northampton for use as a spare training bus, however, during this week it was on loan to Nuneaton. It is a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2.
