NIKON 35 Ti

The first and last (along with the 28ti) flirt of Nikon with the luxury compact market. Typically Nikon from top to bottom. Not very compact, but fantastically built from titanium, so fairly light. The 35/2,8 Nikkor lens (first ever tag on a Nikon compact) was described as ridiculously sharp and one of the finest lenses ever calculated for 24x36. It might be a compact, but it was equipped with all the necessary tools to be a creative cam, aperture priority, matrix metering, manual focus, etc. Of course, the main attraction of the camera was that Nikon ditched the digital displays in favour of a very classy and expensive analogue system that is terrific to look at and a joy to use. Sadly, it seems that Nikon made little money with these jewels and never offered such a sumptous compact again. How sad...
