Serial number 12295 began her career as 42-92489 with the United States Air Force on February 19, 1944. She became FZ692 with the Royal Air Force on February 29, 1944 and was transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force as FZ692 on June 16, 1946.

 

After the unification of the Canadian Armed Forces on February 1, 1968, Canadian military C-47s were designated as CC-129s. This aircraft was re-serialized as 12945 on June 26, 1970. Today, she is a member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's collection at Mount Hope.

 

The 79-year-old is wearing the paint scheme of the R.C.A.F.'s 437 Squadron, with whom she flew missions to European destinations from her base at Blakehill Farm, in Wiltshire, England.
