Serial number 74 began its career as a DHC-3 Otter on February 9, 1956 when it was delivered from Downsview Airport to Manitoba Government Air Service in Winnipeg, Manitoba as CF-MAU. It remained with MGAS until it was retired in February 2005 and put into storage.
In 2007, it had its original Pratt & Whitney R-1340 Wasp radial piston engine replaced with a Garrett TPE331 turbine engine for its current owner. The Texas Turbine Super Otter conversion was performed by Kal-Air Repair Ltd. at Vernon, British Columbia.
