C-GCEV, a 40-year-old de Havilland Canada DHC-7-103 Dash 7, on approach to runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario.
It was arriving as TIN801 (Air Tindi Ltd.) from Thunder Bay, Ontario and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
Serial number 63 first flew on October 17, 1981 and began its career as P2-ANN with Air Niugini Limited in Papua New Guinea on November 6, 1981.
Only 113 DHC-7s were produced and today fewer than 20 remain airworthy. It is indeed a rare bird.
