Kapellbrücke und Wasserturm
The Kapellbrücke (Chapel bridge) and Wasserturm (literally, water tower) on the Reuss river. The bridge was built to make the city easier to defend; in 1993 much of it was destroyed by fire, making me wonder how that would have turned out. Across many of the rafters, underneath the roof, are paintings (or reconstructions thereof) with a version of Lucerne's history accessible to anyone who can either make out the paintings or read old German.
