13 bulb chandelier Energy Efficient chandelier went from using 580 watts to 38 watts of electricity.
Energy-efficient chandelier in the dining room. When we bought the house this thing had 12 *yes twelve!* 40 watt candelabra light bulbs and on the bottom a 100watt small flood light. Total energy usage used to be *gulp* 580 watts!!!
I replaced them with 12 LED light bulbs that use 1.5 watts each (for 18 watts) and a 20watt CFL on the bottom part. So that light fixture went from consuming 580 watts to using 38 watts TOTAL. It still lights up the room nicely.
Incandescent bulbs should be banned! a very inneficcient 130+ year technology that needs to go the way of 35 MM cameras and records.
