Te Rauparaha Statues

These huge carvings commemorating the Maori warrior and leader Te Rauparaha and his whakapapa and the Ngati Toa haka Kamate Kamate are positioned at the south-western end of Te Rauparaha Park, Porirua. The carvings were created during the International Festival of the Arts in February 2004 by a team of Ngati Toa carvers supported by carvers from around the country and Canada.
