Greenland

A Green Heron watches intently for fish under the surface of the Duckweed. I watched this heron almost never miss on any strike; the Duckweed seems to pose no problem, and even the juvenile birds rarely missed. I wonder whether the layer of Duckweed serves as something of a 'blind' for the herons, shielding them from the fishes' view?
