...that's the word that best describes how I felt about this Sharp-shinned Hawk's cavalier attitude toward me as I approached. In the end I backed off, after having come within about eight feet of him/her. That's one self-assured and intimidating little raptor! (By the way, while I would have liked a cleaner background, this shot shows their preferred setting, hiding among dense branches waiting for unsuspecting songbirds.)
