NECR 608 at Trading Cove
One morning Lee Carlson and I chased the 608 southward out of Willimantic, shown here crossing Trading Cove on the Thames River. This was during a period when major track work shifted this train's schedule from the evening to mid-morning and runs on the scenic stretch south of Norwich to New London happened a few times per week at best. The State Pier was the only customer getting cars at the time which has now changed as CWPM has opened a facility to ship construction debris and the state of CT is currently redeveloping the pier.
