Many states do not have anti-cyberbullying laws. Because of this, "prosecutors may attempt to pursue cyberbullies under related criminal charges such as harassment and stalking statutes." In many cases this is not enough to solve the problem because those laws are targeted towards "offline problems" more than online issues.
