Quartier 206 at 20 years

Quartier 206, an upscale retail center and mixed-use building in central Berlin, is a post-Berlin Wall development completed in 1996 that was sponsored by the city in an effort to revive Friedrichstrasse as a vibrant commercial corridor. It was developed by Anno Jagdfeld and designed by Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners Architects. It was developed in tandem with two other buildings, which are linked by a below-grade passageway.
