Piping Plovers

These are small shore birds, found along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, and the Northern Great Plains. Piping Plovers are listed as endangered in Canada and the inland U.S., threatened along coast, and liste as near threatened on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. There are an estimated 6,500 Piping Plovers.
