6x6 Another Storage Building in Shirakawa-go, Gifu Prefecture, JAPAN
Camera: Hasselblad 500CM with Planar 80/2.8
Film: Ilford HP5 plus developed for 11 min. in 1/25 Rodinol at 20C in a Jobo 2520 tank with 2502 reel on a Jobo CPE2 Processor. Printing: LPL 7453 enlarger +VCCE filter module and EL-nikkor 150mm/5.6 lens. Exposure was determined with a Zone Master II exposure meter and programed with a StopClock Pro timer. Base exposure was at grade 1.0, the sky is burned in for 3 additional exposures and the foreground burned-in for 1 additional exposure at grade 5.0. Paper is 8x10 Adox MCC110 processed with Adotol WT developer and washed with a Patterson print washer, and scanned on a CanoScan LiDE 40 scanner. Selenium toned.
Although it looks quiet, I had to wait about 10 minutes for other tourists who were taking their own pictures to get out of the road. The village was really full of people and I wasn't very happy about the shots I was getting, but looking back now on the contact prints, the visit was very productive and now feel like going again. It might be an interesting place for international visitors who have already been to Kyoto, Nara, Asakusa etc., but can not say whether its worth the detour (time required to get there ) from the main tourist routes.
