Bushnell, Illinois
The "Canton Cannonball" approaches the diamond with the former Burlington at Bushnell, operating westward on the former Toledo, Peoria & Western mainline. Leading the way are two former Algoma Central Railway FP9A units purchased by Pioneer Lines in the mid-2000s. With a recent change in ownership, these units will now be sidelined and put up for sale, ending over a decade of service on the former TP&W. This was part of a memorable week-long trip to the Midwest in the middle of the never-ending Winter of 2014-15. We had intentions of going to warmer climes, but the weather forced us to go to Plan C. I sure am glad it did!
