Rugby: Sacramento dominates Chico - Chico, California (1/17/2015)
Last Saturday I attended my first rugby game in almost two years. It featured the Chico Mighty Oaks hosting the Sacramento Capitols. I initially stationed myself at one end of the field to capture action by the home Chico team. However, with the Capitols starting the game by proceeding to score right and left it became evident that most of the action was going to take place at the other end of the field! Therefore, I relocated and spent the rest of the game following the Capitols who continued to score with regularity all afternoon. The game was played at a local high school where no score board was present, but I later learned that the Capitals won the game by a score of 64-3.
To shoot the match I used my old D200 with 70-300 VR attached. Exposure was shutter-speed preferred at 1/640 with auto ISO allowed to float up to 1600.
Holding on for dear life. I like the expression on the Chico player’s face. This image is one of a set of six taken during the game.
Comments are welcome.
