Redux a Tarantula

Not satisfied with the way the previous image was processed, I have redone it properly this time with flats and after several permutations with hot pixel removal and contrast enhancements, this is the most I could do.

Total exposure of 15 minutes at ISO 1600.

Equipment: Modified Sony A200 DSLR 1000mm f/6.7 mounted on a EQ3 mount

Digital Darkroom: processed with DSS, DPP, and Irfanview.

Target: Tarantula Nebula located in the nearby dwarf galaxy named after the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan.

Target distance: About 160,000 light years away.

Brightness: Magnitude 8.
