Where the real action was
In a view I never tired of as a kid, and still haven't, we're looking out the open door of a caboose, or as they were also known depending on the railroad, hacks, vans, crummies, waycars, buggies, and on the Pennsylvania Railroad, cabin cars. Conrail N7D caboose 21114 was born as Erie C347 and was built by International Car Co. in 1953. 21114 currently hangs out (appropriately enough) in downtown Marion, Ohio on CSX's former Big Four (CCC&StL)/NYC/PC/CR Mount Victory Sub. Marion was also once the home of a hump yard and shops of the Erie Railroad.
