The Blue Bonnet
NS 4000, a DC to AC rebuild unit, heads up NS train 21A (Harrisburg, PA to St. Louis, MO, stacks) by the old Roanoke Elevator Co. in rural Roanoke Station, Indiana on NS' former Wabash/N&W Railroad Huntington District on a nice spring day. 21A turned the corner from the Dearborn Division to the Lake Division in Butler, Indiana on it's way to St. Louis, and is now on the "Auto Artery". An old International truck looks on.
NS 4000 started out life as C40-9 8799, and is now an AC44C6M, rebuilt by NS at their Juniata Shops in Altoona, PA. Its sister 4001 with the matching paint was involved in a rollover derailment and was heavily damaged, and is currently being rebuilt again.
