Mary & Robert '92
During a trip to Universal Studios Florida in the summer of 1992, I was standing in line at the King Kong ride ("Kongfrontation") when I looked up and noticed the following written on the ceiling:
Mary
&
Robert '92
x
I had read a blurb in the Orlando Sentinel that said The Cure had paid a visit to the park on the day before their Wish Tour show in June of 1992, and to me it looked like Robert Smith's writing on the ceiling! Could he have been the one to add this graffiti to the King Kong ride??
Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera with me on this visit to the park, but when I returned in 1997 I managed to find the graffiti again and took a snapshot of it. Others added a lot of graffiti over it in that time, but you can still make out the words in this photo (see the notes, which point out each word in the message).
So, any thoughts? Does this look like the work of Robert Smith to anyone else?? :)
Update: Here is a link to Pictures of You's autograph page, which has some Robert Smith writing samples/autographs for comparison's sake.
