1 the approach

here's a simple, corny, unadulturated bit of "true story". please forgive in advance the "this was part of my horrible childhood" lack of poetry, lack of finesse, preponderance of "look, at the bad place from that bad time" comments. i just don't know how else to put this here right now.

 

i grew up in pittsburgh pa. moved to california at 28. this is the 2nd of my few returns that i sought out the first of the houses i remember living in as a child (of probably 10 or so?) i believe i was 4ish to 8ish years old, and had a sister 4 years younger during this time.

 

the house was a tenement/row house in lawrenceville - a poor/working class mostly polish/irish neighborhood. the location was an alley called garden way, of all things ...

 

this is my first visual remembrance, this curious building here on main at garden way.
