Port Gamble Mud Cracks (1 of 1)
Mudcracks near Port Gamble, WA. This area was once home to The Pope & Talbot log mill, one of the largest on the west coast. Recently, Pope Resources has been re-habilitating the area, removing old millworks, decrepit piers and pilings and creating new habitat. The old Mill Town still exists and has become a tourist stop, with a museum, emporium, kayak rentals and other shops. Definitely worth a stop if you are traveling to the Olympic Peninsula from the Kitsap Peninsula.
