Siegessäule, ("Victory Column"); originally designed to commemorate Prussia's victory in the 1864 Danish/Prussian War, by the time it was inaugurated in 1873 it was turned into a memorial to Prussia's victory in the Franco-Prussian War and Germany's unification. In 1939 the memorial was moved from it's place in front of the Reichstag to it's present location in the Tiergarten...
