Hard Left Bank

A Foster's Tern (non-breeding) banks, hard left after unsuccessfully diving for a fish. The tern flies over a channel looking for fish near the surface. It will hover briefly, then nose dive into the water. This occurs incredibly fast. After hitting the water, the bird rapidly ascends, banks hard and repeats the process until it catches a fish.

I spent the better part of two hours trying to photograph the water impact with zero results. There is always the next time.
