Growing up, my Mother always seemed to notice people's eyes and teeth. It wasn't long before I started doing the same thing myself.
My family all had brown eyes and short stubby lashes. So I just knew that when I had children that's what I would end up with as well. I also knew they'd all be blonde with hair straight as a board.
From the beginning my little Sadie bug has thrown me for a curve. She came out with a head full of dark hair, at least full for one of MY babies. Her hair also has some curl to it. Not as much now as when she was a baby but it's definitely still there, especially if it's humid and her little face is framed with sweet wild curls.
And then there are her lashes. Where on earth did they come from?! I remember this past Halloween I put mascara on her and Eli walked in and said, "Wow. Nice fake lashes." Nope, not fake. This is what God gave her!
It's funny how that works. How you expect one thing and are pleasantly surprised when things go differently.
And that whole brown eye thing? That didn't happen either. Madi has the most beautiful blue eyes and all 3 of the other kids have different colors of brown/hazel. Wow!
