West Shore-Oneida Rwy. Co. Timetable 1929
In 1907, the West Shore Railroad was electrified between the cities of Utica and Syracuse,NY. The Oneida Railway Company shared the ROW with the W.S. until operations ceased on Dec. 31, 1930. After that, all passenger servivce between the two cities was discontinued. Passenger service did however continue on the West Shore to the east of Utica and to the west of Syracuse for a few more years. Passenger service on the West Shore's River division between NJ and Albany, NY was the last to be discontinued in the late 1950's. In 1912, The Oneida Railway Company as well as a number of other interurbans in the state merged to form New York State Railways, which was owned by the New York Central Railroad. Since the Utica & Mohawk Railway was part of this merger, and shared the ROW with the West Shore Railroad between Mohawk and Frankfort, NY, its schedule of operations are also included within this timetable. It is possible that this is the last, or one of the last passenger timetables for the West Shore Railroad between Utica and Syracuse, NY. It is dated April 28, 1929; a little over a year and a half before operations on the interurban came to a halt.
