L`Attesa or The Waiting statue-Viareggio

L`Attesa or The Waiting, Gionata Francesconi`s bronze reconstruction of the wooden statue by Inaco in Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy is situated on the pierin the harbour. The sculpture depicts a family anxiously awaiting the return of a ship and because it faces the sea, rather than the pier, most of the family is not visible. The statue is intended to signify hope.
