Maker in Residence – Helen Carnac, Enamel

For a whole week artist and metalworker Helen Carnac used the Institute of Making as her studio and created thoughtful enamel pieces. Members joined Helen to explore and play with enamel – finding out how to use the Makespace enamel kiln, discovering the instant gratification of firing vitreous porcelain on copper, and considering the nature of mark making through the process of sgraffito.
