Wreck of WW2 Japanese gunboat near Lusong Island, Coron (Palawan, The Philippines)

The Lusong Gunboat was a 35 m long auxiliary patrol boat from the Imperial Japanese Navy and sunk on September, 24th 1944, during a US air raid in shallow waters just off Lusong Island.

This wreck is so close to the coast that its front is partly bare at low tide while the stern is at a maximum depth of only 12 m and easily reachable by snorklers. It is surrouned by beautiful softcorals and rich marine life. The whole deck is gone and sunlight baths the whole area in wonderful light and colors.
