Palais Staszic - Staszic Palace - Pałac Staszica
Avant sa construction, il y avait ici une chapelle orthodoxe dont la construction a été ordonné par le roi Sigismond III Vasa; en 1620. Dans cette chapelle a été enterré le Tsar Vassili IV Szujski et son frère Dmitri, mort tout deux en captivité polonaise.
Par la suite, le Roi Jean Casimir Vasa a fait le don en 1668. De cette chapelle à l'Ordre des Dominicains, ils y restèrent jusqu’en 1808. Les murs du monastère tombèrent en ruines et en 1818 le père Stanislaw Staszic les a achetés.
Le palais a été construit dans les années 1820-1833 dans le style classique pour la Société des Amis de la science. Devant le palais on a érigé, 11 mai 1830, le monument à la mémoire de Nicolas Copernic
Before his construcyion, here there was an Orthodox chapel whose construction was ordered by King Sigismund III Vasa; in 1620. In this chapel was buried Tsar Vasily IV Szujski and his brother Dmitri, both died in Polish captivity.
Later, King John Casimir Vasa made the donation in 1668. In this chapel the Dominican Order, they remained until 1808. The walls of the monastery fell into ruin in 1818 and the father Stanislaw Staszic them purchased.
The palace was built in the years 1820-1833 in the classical style for the Society of Friends of Science. Before the palace was erected, May 11, 1830, the monument to Nicolas Copernicus memory
Zanim powstał ten palac, znajdowała się w tym miejscu kaplica prawosławna, której zbudowanie polecił król Zygmunt III Waza; w 1620 r. pochowano tam zmarłego w polskiej niewoli cara Wasyla IV Szujskiego i jego brata Dymitra. Nastepnie król Jan Kazimierz Waza w 1668 r. przekazał kaplicę Zakonowi Dominikanów, którzy użytkowali ją do 1808 r. Mury zrujnowanego klasztoru nabył w 1818 r. ksiądz Stanisław Staszic.
Pałac został zbudowany w latach 1820-1833 w stylu klasycystycznym dla Towarzystwa Przyjaciół Nauk.. Przed pałacem ustawiony został pomnik Mikołaja Kopernika. odsłoniony 11 maja 1830 roku
