Before The Studios at Paramount moved into 5555 Melrose Avenue Hollywood, CA this building was the home of KCAL, Drake-Chenault Enterprises, Capitol Records, the first home of NBC West Coast. First it was Consolidated Film Industries.

The tour of the historic Paramount Tour starts here, but this building was a breeding ground of many pop icons. Before the iconic Capitol Records building, this is where they recorded.

As a radio studio it was Jack Benny's favorite during his days (1932-1948) with NBC. CFI was a film lab, Gladys Baker, Marilyn Monroe's Mom, worked for Consolidated as a negative film cutter, many think her Dad was another Consolidated employee Charles Stanley Gifford. There are still scorch marks from a fire at CFI in the building from a nitrate film stock fire.
