May the force be with you...
on this 4th of May 2023 and always.
This from a few years back... when the force was quite strong with this younger gal.
I was just finishing up a wonderful day of Wine Tasting, with my best-est Wine Tasting buddy, my sweetie.
The sky was the limit and much of the craziness of the last over a half a dozen years or more was still not even a real thought in anyone's mind, or at least not mine yet.
Today, the leaders of the Fascist hate group the Proud Boys were found guilty of seditious conspiracy as part of the violent attempt to overthrow the 2020 elections.
My hope is that the others who directed and took part in the other efforts to overthrow the election thru fraudulent electors and attempts to coerce elected officials to corrupt the counting of the votes in several swings states will be charged and held accountable shortly too. This obviously includes the former President as well.
I never would have believed standing there in this picture, that my country, one I had worked so hard to protect during most of my adult life would have fallen so far and so quickly as to see a President, his corrupt allies and their violent minions attempt such a thing.
I would have called you Crazy for suggesting that these things as they transpired were possible. But they did happen.
Today, although our state and Federal Justice Departments are still working to hold these people accountable, it is shocking that the GOP can still put the former President, his lies and his allies out as their representatives for any part of our government, let alone for the office of the US presidency.
This was another step forward today, to help return us to being a place where our "Democracy" and Constitution really means something, but it is clearly going to be a continuing fight.
