I am who I am,

all the warts and wrinkles too.

I got out to a local TG group BBQ this weekend. First time we've held one since late 2019.

We've gotten together since then, but this was the first out by the pool, summer heat and fun style BBQ since then.

It was great, I loved getting to sit around and chat with a number of my old friends and some newer ones as well.

A real cross section of the community here in the Bay Area, some transitioned, some transiting, some loving where they on the spectrum and in life, others more recently embarking on their journey. Some younger, some older (although mostly mid aged and older), some wonderfully presenting, others more being just comfortable with themselves, some married with families, others foot loose and fancy free, some spouses and family members, all in all a wonderful microcosm.

I loved every chat I was involved in, even when I might be on opposite side of an issue or more middle leaning on an issue. Didn't get to chat with everyone I would have liked too, they always seem to end too quickly, even though I was there for over 6 hours.

It had been a couple of years and I forgot exactly how to get there, (its well outside my usual travel zone and I got close (ie on the right street, just by memory) and likely would have found it eventually, but it nice to have friends to help you out a bit where you might get a little off course or lost or whatever you might call it when you could use a little help.

Anyways always wonderful to have real world physical friends and connections in this crazy world of ours.

Nice to give them a hug, hear their voices and their thoughts, to realize that while they look amazing when they take the time in their presentation, they are also wonderful folks, even in drab mode.

We all have our faults and foibles, our idiosyncrasies, our strengths and our weaknesses, but it was quite nice to just be a bit physically and socially human again with some local friends. I miss them all.

Be well and stay sane,

Hugs, Becky

Oh, the picture this is of a recently discovered sculpture I found in my area.

Title: Truth is Beauty, I dont know the artist's reasoning there but I do enjoy the sculpture.

A comparison and contrast on many levels.

I'm old, she's young, I'm small (lol) and she is huge, she is a representation of the feminine form and so hopefully am I too.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
