Under the Pier at Clacton-on-Sea
It was a lovely summer's day with sunshine and lots of people on the beach, but underneath the pier it was really eerie - almost silent except for the echoes, and cold. The piers were quite rusty and covered in barnacles. There was no-one else there. The smell was indescribable, pleasant yet not! A mixture of rotting seaweed and damp sand. I recomment a trip "under the pier" to anyone.
