Desert Cottontail Teeth Cleaning - Gilbert Riparian Preserve

Here's the story. 7 years ago when I first visited the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert Arizona, there were a handful of hares running around the trail system slightly spooked of people passing by with big feet (us). Fast forward 7 years to current... There's an overwhelming [almost] overpopulation of these desert(?) hares everywhere!

I have no idea what the intentions are with management, whether or not they're going to continue to let these bunnies reproduce, but one thing has become certain. 98% of these desert bunnies don't move much if you're walking past them unless you're about to step on one.

Not sure if this is a good thing, or more of the direction Gilbert is after to attract a wider demographic of visitors to engage in

'wild' habitat. In all seriousness, this isn't a petting zoo and if this hare populous continues to exceed, the petting zoo might be a good expansion to the park, but not in the riparian zone borders.
