Part of the exhibition inside the observatory, concerning astronomy and knowledge about the universe. Everything was presented there in a very accessible way and was really interesting. It was propably the best science presentation I've ever seen :)
Griffith Observatory is an observatory in Los Angeles, California, on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. It commands a view of the Los Angeles Basin including Downtown Los Angeles to the southeast, Hollywood to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. The observatory is a popular tourist attraction with a close view of the Hollywood Sign and an extensive array of space and science-related displays. It is named after its benefactor, Griffith J. Griffith, who presented 1,220 ha of land to the city of Los Angeles for use as a public park and donated funds to build an observatory, exhibit hall, and planetariumthere. Admission has been free since the observatory's opening in 1935, in accordance with the benefactor's will. Griffith's objective was to make astronomy accessible to the public, as opposed to the prevailing idea that observatories should be located on remote mountaintops and restricted to scientists. The building combines Greek and Beaux-Arts influences, and the exterior is embellished with the Greek key pattern.

Obserwatorium jest popularną atrakcją turystyczną z bliskim widokiem na znak Hollywood i szeroką gamą wystaw związanych z kosmosem i nauką. Zostało nazwane na cześć swojego dobroczyńcy, Griffitha J. Griffitha, który podarował miastu 1220 ha ziemi, do wykorzystania jako park publiczny oraz przekazał fundusze na budowę obserwatorium, sali wystawowej i planetarium. Wstęp jest bezpłatny od momentu otwarcia obserwatorium w 1935 roku, zgodnie z wolą dobroczyńcy. Celem Griffitha było udostępnienie astronomii opinii publicznej, w przeciwieństwie do dominującej idei, że obserwatoria powinny być zlokalizowane na odległych szczytach gór i ograniczone do naukowców.
