Sućuraj, a small picturesque tourist and fishermen's town and port, is the most eastern settlement on the island of Hvar (Croatia), and is also nearest to the mainland. There is a ferry dock connecting Sućuraj with the town of Drvenik on the Makarska Riviera. The oldest and best-preserved building in the city is the Franciscan Monastery. The exact date of construction of the monastery is unknown, but it is known that it was renovated in 1309. Another old monument in the town is the baroque church of St. Antoni Padewski from 1663, as well as partially preserved old Venetian fortress (1613). Currently, tourism and fishing play the greatest role in the city's economy. Sućuraj is surrounded by many picturesque beaches and coves that offer ideal places for swimming and relaxing.

Sućuraj jest małą śródziemnomorską miejscowością oraz portem, położonym na południowym przylądku wyspy Hvar (Chorwacja), w miejscu gdzie wyspa jest najbliższa dalmatyńskiemu wybrzeżu. Znajduje się tu przystań promowa łącząca Sućuraj z miejscowością Drvenik na Makarskiej Rivierze. Najstarszym I najlepiej zachowanym budynkiem w mieście jest klasztor franciszkanów. Nie jest znana dokładna data budowy klasztoru - wiadomo, że w 1309 roku był on restaurowany. Zachował się też barokowy kościół św. Antoniego Padewskiego z 1663, a także częściowo stara twierdza wenecka (1613). Obecnie największe znaczenie w gospodarce miasta odgrywa turystyka i rybołówstwo. Sućuraj otoczony jest przez wiele malowniczych plaż i zatoczek, które oferują idealne miejsca do kąpieli i relaksu.
