Outside teh window is cold and gray now, so I come back to my photo memories from vacation on the Rodos island. We are in Lindos and we are enter the acropolis :)
Lindos is an archaeological site, a fishing village and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. It lies on the east coast of the island. It is about 50 km south of the town of Rhodes and its fine beaches make it a popular tourist and holiday destination. it's one of the oldest towns on the island. Lindos was founded by the Dorians led by the king Tlepolemus of Rhodes, who arrived in about the 10th century BC. It was one of six Dorian cities in the area known as the Dorian Hexapolis. In Lindos you can see a lot of white buildings build on rocks, as well as narrow streets whose ground was made of marine stones. Along with them, there are many restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. Above the modern town rises on the rock, at an altitude of 115 meters, the acropolis of Lindos, a natural citadel which was fortified successively by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Knights of St John and the Ottomans and is now a landmark of Lindos’ landscape. At the top of the acropolis are the ruins of the temple of Athena, decorated with columns at the front and back. The acropolis has views of the surrounding harbours and coastline.

Za oknem jest już szaro i zimno, więc wracam do fotograficznych wspomnień z tegorocznych wakacji na Rodos. Jesteśmy w mieście Lindos własnie wchodzimy na akropol :)
Lindos – miejscowość w Grecji, na wyspie Rodos. Znajduje się na wschodnim wybrzeżu wyspy i oddalone jest od stolicy o ok. 50 km. Jest drugą po mieście Rodos najczęściej odwiedzaną miejscowością i jedną z najstarszych na wyspie. Miasteczko Lindos, wraz ze swoją białą zabudową architektoniczną, położone jest u podnóża ogromnej skały, nad lazurowym morzem. Lindos charakteryzuje się białą zabudową "przyczepioną" do stromych skał, a także wąskimi, krętymi uliczkami, których podłoże zrobiono z morskich kamieni. Wzdłuż, nich znajduje się wiele restauracji, kawiarenek oraz sklepów z pamiątkami. Największym zbiorem zabytków znajdujących się w Lindos jest akropol. Góruje on nad miastem ze wzgórza wznoszącego się na wysokość 115 m. Ze względu na to, że teren akropolu był budowany stopniowo, obecne są tu zabytki pochodzące z różnych epok. Całość zajmuje ok. 8 tys. m2. Na szczycie akropolu znajdują się ruiny świątyni Ateny z Lidnos - ozdobionej z przodu i z tyłu kolumnami. Świątynia została wybudowana ku czci greckiej bogini Ateny Lindyjskiej. Dzieje budowli prawdopodobnie sięgają czasów doryckich, co sprawia, że jest to najstarsza budowla znajdująca się w tym kompleksie. Z ruin akropolu rozpościera się zapierający dech w piersiach widok na Zatokę Lindyjską, port Św. Pawła oraz na ciekawą zabudowę miasta.
