OUR SWEETHEART
Here he is spruced up preened in all his finery, after a wash in the birdbath, which also doubles as our bird watering hole.
There's been a slowing of his visits over the past few days, as Bobby seems to be only taking food for himself. The endless multiple visits collecting food for his offspring of 3/4 broods have come to an end.
He's still been coming to the windows to let us know he would like some more food. Still taking from my hand while I talk to him.
We've more recently been adopted by a very young blackbird fledgling. It seems to have been deserted by its parents. It's quite mobile and can fly a little but spends much of its day scurrying around under the plants in the garden.
It was continuously tweeting for it's mum, to no avail, then started running up to Bobby as we were feeding him, in the hope of getting some food. So we chopped up some small pieces of fruit, which it devoured
Now each morning it appears at the kitchen door, hopefully in a week or so it will be able to fly further. Its just sad to see it on its own, nature I suppose
