The use of masking tape was commonplace as basic draught reduction in cabs. On cold days or nights a large bin liner was effective to sit in to keep warm.
Note the boiler steam pressure gauge still in situ to right of drivers desk.
These gauges were removed and plated over at various depots when the boiler was either isolated in situ or removed during these years when steam heating was being phased out across the Network.
47054 was scrapped at Booths of Rotherham in November 1993.
