FMCCS184 D236 at Ribblehead
Ribblehead on what looks to be a hazy summer day on the 29th of August 1970.
Green Class 40 D236 is at the head of the 09.25 Glasgow to Sheffield service (did it only go as far as Sheffield? I know it was a Nottingham in the late 70's and early 80's).
The station is much in need of some TLC but there does appear to be a newish looking weather device of some sort on the roof as the station also acted as a Meteorological Station from 1957 apparently.
D236 was new to Crewe North in October 1959 and withdrawn I think from Kingmoor in January 1982.
Image from a slide in my collection by an unknown photographer.
