Brush Type4 1921 awaits departure from Newton Abbot in February 1974

 

Just look at the lighting fittings for the station nameboard!

 

Today the platform the train is standing in is out of use and the area used for car parking.

 

Note also the power station chimneys in the background.

Originally with the D Prefix 1921 went on to become 47244 renumbered in May 74 and later 47640 University of Strathclyde. It was identified as being preserved at the Battlefield Line on 9.9.07. Owned by Nemesis Rail?? Stored? Can anyone clarify?.
