COTSWOLD GEM
An unidentified Brush class47 still in two-tone green livery heads for Worcester and is seen from Grintleyhill Bridge, Combe in the heart of the Cotswolds
May or June 1975
The headcode says 1B28 though of course may not be correct but it would make it the 10.05 Paddington to Worcester
This is a purchased original slide though the photographer is unknown, though I have all rights etc.
Note that the telegraph poles are still in position and it is still clear that the line was once double track. My first journey over this line was in 1973 and I think that much of the line had already been singled
