Rauðisandur

Horft af Rauðasandi yfir að Sjöundá.

Rauðisandur is a 10 km long beach with golden-reddish sand in a remote area in the southern part of Westfjords, Iceland. Such a warm hued sand is a rare occurence in Iceland where most beaches are volcanic black. On a clear day Snæfellsjökull glacier is visible in the distance across Breiðafjörður bay.
