Tindfjallajökull

Crevasses on the snout of Tindfjallajökull glacier make an interesting abstract pattern.

September 3rd we ventured on a day hike to Sindri crater and Ásgrindur peaks in Tindfjöll, Syðra Fjallabaki, Iceland. Tindfjallajökull is the smallest glacier on the island, it covers the caldera of an extinct stratovolcano, approximately 7-10 km in diameter. On a clear day the hiker is awarded with amazing views over Mýrdalsjökull, Eyjafjallajökull, Þórsmörk and Fjallabak.

Dagsferð á Sindra og Ásgrindur í Tindfjöllum, lagt var upp frá skálanum í Hungurfit og haldið til fjalls. Veðrið lék við okkur og útsýnið sveik engan.
