Snow Patch
I did this climb at the end of May, but we're at such elevation now it's still pretty cold, shown by these patches of snow that still cling on in the folds and crevices of the mountains. I'm rounding the rise of Creagan a'Choire Etchachan to get my first view of Derry Cairngorm and the conditions that will decide if I push on further. Low clouds would make it dangerous as I'm here on my own and I know my limits!
Derry Cairngorm is my first Munro I have bagged this season, my 24th in total, and stands at 1155 meters (3789 feet). This trip sees me covering approximately 20 miles by Bike & Hike and gaining 2682 feet in elevation, after setting off from the Linn of Dee outside Braemar.
